First off, major gratitude to Takashi Toyooka, who took a couple of excellent shots of Jamie's panel at Ottawa Comic Con including the one you see at right. (To see the other one, click the link in his name to go to his Flickr set.) Ta for supplying topical artwork for this post. ;)
Next weekend Jamie is at Phoenix Comic Con, and they've finally added him to the list of guests on the site; for those of you planning to attend, here's what you need to know:
- Jamie's scheduled to appear Fri-Sun., May 25 - 27; unsure if he'll be signing all three days, EDIT: Okay, thank you asta77 for finding the signing schedule! (Oy, meandering website is meandring...) CLICK HERE and scroll down for all the dates/times that Jamie's signing! (Yes, all three days.) Autographs are $30.
- His photo ops are $15 and scheduled for Friday 5/25 at 2:15 pm and Saturday 5/26 at 11:45 am.
- His panel is slated for Sunday 5/27 from 3 - 4 pm, location is listed as "120". (Presuming that's the room number?)
And there you have it. Oh, if you'll note on the home page there are links to a Phoenix CC app, both Android and iPhone/iPad versions; if you're attending, might be a good idea to check that out too.
(Also, not to sound too snark-happy comm admin or anything ;) - but who the hell wrote that bio? "His new wife, Kerry"....??! Erm, they've been married for several years, guys.) Tags: convention: phoenix comic con

4:45 PST - PHOTO UPDATE! - Finally, we have something of the cast. Not ideal, it's watermarked, but hey...
Right now, this post is pretty dull and boring. (Not any more - see above. ;) There is a second pic similar to this behind the cut text below...) That's because I'm putting it here in advance of today's TNT Upfront presentation in New York (9:30 AM EST), so that myself, asta77 and all of you will have a place to bounce any photos and links covering Jamie and the Monday Mornings cast and creators' press debut.
So hey, comment away; I'll spruce this bit up here up with a photo when I get one. (Or maybe video? Come on, guys, we need a clip. Do it. Clip or else I want an explanation from Ted Turner himself*. ;) )
*slight exaggeration
And HERE is that amazing pic of Jamie and Mary McDonnell that TNT tweeted: UPDATE: Okay, TNT have a page up for the show on their site now with this spiffy banner; no trailer yet, though:( I'm putting the rest behind a cut, because it might start to get long ;) )Tags: tv: monday mornings

OMG, They Did! After many in the media believed it to be a goner, word came last night that ABC decided not to burst Body of Proof's bubble (Get it. It was a bubble show. Yeah, I know, LAME, but I had to do it!) and renew the series for a thirteen episode Season 3. Why is this Jamie Bamber news? The producers, writers and stars of the show have all expressed how much they enjoyed working with Jamie and there was this behind the scenes clip in which we learned there were plans for Jamie's Aiden Wells to return if Season 3 became a reality. Of course, it's much too early to know if Jamie/Aiden will be back. Jamie would need to get an OK from TNT (not as tricky as it used to be since many actors now appear on two series on different networks) and there would have to be no scheduling conflicts. Still, it's been a week full of good news for Jamie, so we'll imagine his initial reaction was something like this: And just a quick reminder that Jamie is appearing at Ottawa Comiccon this weekend. His Q&A isn't until tomorrow afternoon (hopefully the internet will be generous and we'll have links/vids/photos to post), but he has photo ops and autograph sessions today. Already on Twitter I'm seeing comments as to how "super hot in person" and "nice" he is. Yeah, we know. ;) Tags: tv: body of proof

TNT has released episode descriptions for the first eight episodes of Perception debuting Monday, July 9th at 10pm. Jamie's first episode is the series second, "Faces", airing July 16th. The full list of episode descriptions can be found at Spoiler TV. Here are the descriptions for Jamie's three episodes: Episode 1.02 - “Faces” – Monday, July 16, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)Moretti enlists Pierce’s help to solve a murder that looks to be a man who killed his mail-order bride. The case takes an interesting twist when they find out he has a condition that makes him unable to recognize faces. Meanwhile, a handsome new professor (guest star Jamie Bamber) catches Moretti’s eye. LeVar Burton also guest-stars. Episode 1.06 - “Lovesick” – Monday, Aug. 20, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)Pierce is called upon to help the FBI investigate the murder of a therapist. Moretti spends more time with Professor Hathaway (guest star Jamie Bamber). And Dean Haley (guest star LeVar Burton) uses Pierce as bait to get a wealthy alumni’s widow (guest star Krista Allen) to fund a new building. Episode 1.08 - “Kilimanjaro” – Monday, Sept. 3, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)Moretti and Pierce are called upon to solve a crime in their own backyard when a college student is killed in her dorm room. Pierce is forced into the uncomfortable situation of interacting on a personal level with more than one of his students, which forces him to confront difficult truths about his own past. The case comes just as Moretti is beginning to re-evaluate her relationship with Dr. Hathaway (guest star Jamie Bamber). While promotional photos have been released for the series, including photos for the first two episodes, none include Jamie. Hopefully, TNT will rectify this closer the the July premiere. Our long international nightmare is over! TNT HAS PICKED UP "MONDAY MORNINGS"!!!!! Details via Deadline:TNT has greenlit Monday Mornings, a powerful new series from award-winning producer David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, Chicago Hope) and practicing neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, M.D., on whose book the series is based. The medical drama stars Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2, TNT’s The Company), Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Jennifer Finnigan (Better with You), Bill Irwin (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Keong Sim (Glee), Sarayu Rao (Lions for Lambs), and Emily Swallow (TNT’s Southland). Monday Mornings (formerly known as Chelsea General) is produced by TNT Originals and David E. Kelley Productions. Kelley and Gupta both serve as executive producers. Kelley penned the pilot episode, which was directed and executive-produced by Bill D’Elia (Boston Legal, The West Wing). TNT has ordered a 10-episode first season of Monday Mornings, which is set to premiere in summer 2013. TNT has teamed up with Turner Broadcasting System International, Inc. to produce this global series. The show, which will air on TNT and Turner networks around the world, will be distributed by TBS International outside of the United States and Canada.Yeah, the Summer 2013 debut sucks, but, hey, think of how many other roles Jamie will be able to play in his downtime from MM. :) ETA: The Futon Critic has the first photo from Monday Mornings:
( Complete (and larger version) of the photo under the cut ) I'm imagining some of this going on in the Bamber household.....

As for myself and Jamie's many fans, I'm imagining we're all feeling a bit like this....

GIF Party in Comments! :D

File under "relevant to our interests"... The Novogeek launched today, and it appears to be (correct me if I'm wrong) a new venture by Anovos to create functional, fun geeky items similar to a the stuff that is carried at ThinkGeek. The hook for this particular site, though, is that each item they offer will only be offered for one week, so you have to act fast if you want them. The first three items for their launch this month are BSG related (see the link above); I'm already planning on buying the Galactica USB flash drive that's up next week. (So cute! And handy!) But I really wanted to call attention to THESE: - BSG "Captain Apollo" Cufflinks (May 21): These beautiful, high polished aluminum cufflinks faithfully replicates the Captain's rank pins worn by Captain Lee Adama on his various uniforms on Battlestar Galactica. Not only would these rank cufflinks be the envy of every BSG fan, but they also discretely hide your insatiable BSG fandom behind a polished vale of pomp and civility.
Wait - so, finally, someone does a batch of BSG limited edition stuff… and there's only one character-specific item… and it's Lee. LEE FIRST. About effing time. ;) Approve. Tags: merchandise, tv: battlestar galactica

Well bonjour, bel homme. o_O
So in a completely random bit of home video shenanigans, even though Un jour mon père viendra is not yet on DVD in its native country, it is has just been released in Russia. I know - QUOI?!?! But there we have it. And thanks to that excellent Russian Hornblower comm that has their finger on the pulse of the news about all the ex-Indy boys, we also have some AMAZING screencaps. Like the one you see above. Oof.
You can see several more screencaps at the comm HERE. But here's a teaser (which it should go without saying constitutes SPOILERS of a sort) behind the cut... ( Oh, my. STEPHEN. We really can't wait to meet you… )Many thanks to Liliya_M for posting those to drive us a little crazy tide us over until a Region 1 or 2 DVD arrives. ;) BONUS TRIVIA!: Check this out, because it made me laugh - I did a bit of research (while sitting here during our company luncheon, sipping a Corona - it's Quatro de Mayo! Oh, hush…), and it appears that the Russian title of UJMPV is Papashi 2 (Daddy 2). Which made no sense to me at all… and then I did a little MORE Googling and discovered that Daddy was the Russian title of Les compères, the 1983 Gerard Depardieu/Pierre Richard comedy that bears an ever so slight resemblance to UJMPV in that... uh, it involves two potential fathers and it's French and it's a comedy. So it would appear that Russia has decided that UJMPV is the sequel to a movie that is nearly 30 years old. Hilarious. ;) Tags: film: un jour mon père viendra

This news is about as breaking as it gets, folks ;) Will update this post with said details as we get them, but she surely speaks of Ottawa ComicCon and Phoenix ComicCon. Act fast, Ontario and Arizona! (Personally... god damn, Phoenix is close. No way I can pull that off with a few weeks' notice, though, not with my workload these days. Saaadness.) UPDATE: For those thinking of attending Ottawa CC, Jamie will be there both days; his panel is Sunday, May 13th at noon. The entire show schedule in PDF format is HERE. UPDATE LE DEUX: Kerry also tweeted indicating he'll be at Phoenix CC all three days, as well; will post any additional panel info when we get it. p.s. Yes, yes he is. And you're pretty brilliant yourself, Kerry. ;) Tags: convention: ottawa comic con, convention: phoenix comic con

Happy Monday! Yes, I thought I'd open with humor. Welcome to another "Monday Mornings" discussion. Our second to last. Only one more week to go! WOO! For this weeks discussion (with the co-operation of zegeekgirl :) I thought I'd do something different with the format. Truth be told, this change was brought about by a combination of headache, laziness and feeling as though, if I just shared my thoughts, I'd be repeating the same criticisms. So, beneath the cut is a DM conversation Zegeekgirl and I had about this weeks reading. It's been edited a bit for clarity as well as possible excessive use of exclamation points and emoticons. ( Who can afford to buy tickets on the spur of the moment at the airport? Neurosurgeons, that's who! )Keeping with the ripped from the headlines taken from Twitter theme of this post, I tweeted this on Friday: @jamiebambernews: Deadline Pilot Update: TNT screening pilots next week, #ChelseaGeneral continues to be hot & likely for series order - Deadline Link. And Kerry shared this on Saturday: @ImKerryNorton: @JamieBamberNews And rumour has it that a certain someone is brilliant in it and this could be a breakout role :) Keep thinking those good thoughts, everyone! Finally, IMDB now has Chelsea General renamed Monday Morning. While I prefer MM as a title (it's less generic), I always take IMDB updates with a very large grain of salt. Especially when they list MM as a TV movie. We'll wait for a more official announcement from TNT (or Kerry ;), before we start editing anything around here. For those with a Twitter account, and following JBN over there, this post is a whole lot of old news. But for those who aren't on Twitter...Hey! I have news! Now, I know many fans would love to find out Jamie finally took the social media plunge and joined Twitter. Well, that didn't happen. (Sorry. I couldn't resist.) The fact is, the odds of Jamie joining Twitter are on par with Firefly being back on FOX's schedule. However, there was an awesome, and somewhat surprising, addition to the Twitterverse this past weekend. Jamie's lovely wife, Kerry Norton. Yep, Kerry has crossed over to the dark side. ;) Kerry's Twitter handle is @ImKerryNorton. I highly recommend following her on Twitter or, if you don't have and account, bookmark her page. She's quite entertaining and, yes, may mention her husband once in awhile. Of course, if she tweets anything newsworthy about Jamie or her own career (the Bamber News umbrella extends to her :), myself or zegeekgirl will be sure to share here. One piece of news Kerry has already shared, Filly Brown will hit theatres on September 21st. Oh, and she's also sharing photos. Actually, the above pic was tweeted by Jamie's Chelsea General costar, Jennifer Finnigan, @jennigan. Late last week, Jennifer mentioned going to Coachella (a music and arts festival in California) and a day later Kerry tweeted she and Jamie were attending. Which made me wonder if there would be a collision of co-stars. I love it when actors come through for you. :) Besides being a fabulous photo of them all, including Jennifer's husband Jonathan Silverman, how awesome is it to see costars bonding so quickly? It makes me even more excited for a Chelsea General pickup. Speaking of a series pickup, Deadline, in their PRIMETIME PILOT PANIC: Early Buzz Update, is reporting that of TNT's four drama pilots, "CHELSEA GENERAL is hot, with Frank Darabont’s LA NOIR and Carol Mendelsohn’s SCENT OF THE MISSING also in the mix." \O/ By the way, Scent is Tricia Helfer's pilot so if we are really lucky and TNT has smart people in scheduling, we could have a BSG night of viewing. Now, for a couple of photos Kerry shared. The first was, again, taken at Coachella and also includes Jamie and Kerry's friend DJ Zen Freeman. And here's a previously unseen member of the Norton-Bamber-Griffith family, Flint. Everyone say, "Awwwwwww". OK, to steal from Shakespeare in Love, I'll end this on a bit with a dog. We can now happily confirm (for a second time - but we have details now!) that the French DVD release date for Un jour mon père viendra is June 13th. The cover art is pictured at left; here are the specs for the release!:
Distribution: Gaumont Video Image Format: Aspect ratio 2.35 - 16/9, compatible 4/3 Audio Format: Original French - Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 Video Format: Digital Master - 1:34 Subtitles: French for deaf and (Ed. - woot!) English Bonus Features: - The reunion of Gerard Jugnot and François Berléand after Les Choristes. - The film debut of Olivia Ruiz. - Between laughter and emotion, an endearing family story. (Note: Jamie may be featured in that last one, no idea. We'll have to wait and see!) Suggested retail price: €9.99 (Since most of our readers appear to either be in the US or UK: At the moment that's approx. $13 and £8.25, respectively.)
Amazon.fr still haven't updated their page with the correct release date and the art, etc., but I'm sure they will imminently. The odds were always iffy if UJMPV would get a theatrical release overseas, since none of its stars are well-known outside of their native France and it's not a festival winner. (see: The Artist ;) ) There may also still be a Canadian R1 release, we're looking into those details too. UPDATE - whoa, hey, that was fast! There DOES seem to be a Canadian R1 release around the same time - June 12th! CAN$ 20.99, which might end up breaking even for anyone in the States w/ regard to shipping - it's your call. Also unclear at this point if the Canadian release will have the same extras. At any rate, if you don't have a means of watching multi-region DVDs, now might be a great time to look into that. Lest we remind you... Ahem. Yeah. Tags: film: un jour mon père viendra
